About Us

The Warrior basketball program was started by Tom Sanders and Troy Prasatik in the spring of 1992 from the roots of our Sports Day program for Home School families.

One Jr. High team, and one Sr. High team competed at the State Home School tournament. The following fall, a limited number of games were arranged against small, local Christian schools. The teams competed in the State, and National School tournaments. The program has now grown to include Elementary, Junior High, and High School teams.

More than 100 boys attend workouts on Mondays and Wednesday, October through March. Skill work and intramural play is emphasized. Cost varies by team. The older teams compete against outside competition, which includes other Home School teams; private schools; and public schools.

The  current program is headed by David Kennedy. Funding is provided through fundraisers, summer camps, fees ($35 - $85 per month, depending on the team), and corporate donations. The Varsity Team is recognized as one of the top private school teams in the state, and competes primarily against public school teams. Tryouts are in September.

In previous seasons, the Warriors have won many public school tournaments, and the program has ranked 1st or 2nd in the nation at the National Home School Basketball Tournament for many years. Several players from past years are currently playing at the college level. One Warriors player, Kevin Johnson, has distinguished himself in college play for Division 1 Tulsa.
